INFORMS Datathon Recap

INFORMS had our first ever undergraduate Datathon competition in collaboration with the Miller Center over these past 2 weeks!!! We had 4 teams, 15 participants, 2 grad student mentors, and 6 judges (professors, professionals, Miller Center Data representatives). Students worked in groups of 3-5 people during the course of the competition, dealing with real-world data provided by a Miller Center social enterprise. This was a unique opportunity that gave students the ability to directly engage with MBA students, MIS professors, and real world professionals through office hours and other events.
Thank you to all 4 teams who participated! We loved working with you all and we're all incredibly proud of you and the driven and passionate people at Santa Clara who are committed to contributing to our community! Congrats to Team Moonpies – Ophelia Li, Maddy Mun, Conner Chen – for winning! Special thank you to Lynne Anderson for the data, Linda Gentry from the Miller Center for coordinating and providing support throughout all the planning! We look forward to seeing ALL of you at our Datathon next year!
