Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Dr. Andrew McBride is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business. His research focuses on leadership and identity in organizational contexts, examining questions such as how identifying as a leader shapes behavior, when that identification motivates constructive versus harmful actions, and how leaders influence the identities of those around them. He is also interested in field-level issues in social science, including academic authorship, replicability, and the meaning of rigor.

Dr. McBride's work has been published in leading journals including The Leadership Quarterly, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Nature Human Behaviour. Trained in both quantitative and qualitative methods, he draws on a range of approaches in his scholarship.

In the classroom, Dr. McBride emphasizes active learning through discussion and experiential activities. He works closely with students to help them identify their interests and develop concrete steps toward their professional goals.

Dr. McBride holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Science and an M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, both from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.
